Amalia Teresita Halley known to most as Tere, beloved wife, mother , mother-in-law,sister and friend died peacefully on Monday, September 7, 2026 after a valiant struggle against dementia. Born on April 17, 1942 in Chihuahua, Chihuahua Mexico, Amalia Teresita del Niño Jesus Cabello was the eldest of eight siblings —two boys and six girls. She was a lifelong student and teacher, volunteer and confidant to family and friends alike. Her love of the arts drawing, painting, sketching, and music, most especially Chopin, always filled our home with beauty, inspiration and warmth. In lieu of flowers, please consider an act of kindness in memory of Tere— whether a winter coat for a senior in need, an art set for a disadvantaged child , or your most valuable asset, your time spent listening to a friend or stranger you sense is lonely—-these are the things our mom loved doing best. It is in the giving of ourselves that we receive and we all received so very much in the gift that was our Tere. Her proud and grateful husband and daughters promised her an eternity where Van Morrison’s Days Like This is a beautifully infinite reality—as is our love for her.
