Our Mission

Inspired by Pope Francis' encyclical Laudato Si' and the Church's rich tradition of Catholic Social Teaching, our mission is to help parishioners understand our call to care for God's creation and provide opportunities to put that faith into action.

Together, we seek to foster a culture of love and care for creation, concern for those most affected by environmental challenges, and a commitment to the common good.

Why Care for Creation?

The Church teaches that care for creation is a moral responsibility because it affects all of humanity. 

Environmental degradation impacts the poor and vulnerable most deeply, while today's decisions shape the world that future generations will inherit. As Christians, we are called to be faithful stewards of God's gifts and to respond with gratitude, responsibility, and hope.

What We Do

Our ministry offers opportunities to grow in faith while caring for our common home through:

• Service. Participate in projects that care for our local environment and support those most affected by environmental challenges.
• Education. Learn about Laudato Si', Catholic Social Teaching, and practical ways to live as faithful stewards of creation.
• Prayer. Take part in prayer opportunities and spiritual reflections that deepen our appreciation for God's creation and our responsibility to care for it.
• Community. Build friendships with fellow parishioners who share a desire to serve, learn, and make a positive impact together.
  
  

The Season of Creation

Each year, the Church celebrates the Season of Creation from September 1 through October 4, the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi. During this time, Catholics around the world are invited to pray, reflect, and act in ways that honor God's creation. Our parish offers special opportunities throughout the season to grow in faith and stewardship together.
