Robert Francis “Bob” Buchheit, age 87, passed away in Frisco, Texas on May 4, 2026.
Born on July 6, 1938, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Bob served in the United States Air Force for 4 years as a member of the band as a saxophonist. He dedicated many years to J.C. Penney Company, retiring in 1998. Bob was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Plano, Texas and was actively involved in the Knights of Columbus, where he served as The Grand Knight.
Bob is survived by his wife of 65 years, Betty Buchheit; his daughter Karen Crain (husband Thomas), Melissa, Texas; his son Gary Buchheit (wife Cynthia), Huntsville, Alabama; son Steven Buchheit (wife Jennifer), Frisco, Texas; grandson Sam Crain; granddaughter Haylie Buchheit; brother-in-law Robert “Bob” Romano (wife Doris); sister-in-law Rae Conroy; sister-in-law Karen Buchheit; and 1 niece and 10 nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father Richard Buchheit; Mother Angeline Buchheit; brother Richard Buchheit; brother Raymond Buchheit; brother-in-law Leonard “Lenny” Conroy, sister-in-law Ilse Buchheit, and nephew James “Jim” Buchheit.
Family and friends are invited to attend the funeral service that will be held Monday, June 1, 2026, at 10:00am at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2700 Spring Creek Parkway, Plano, TX 75023. Interment will take place at The Seton Columbarium & Memory Garden. Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
